Of course, this has nothing to do with a surviving relative of the late writer trying to feather his nest off the the back of the BBC, something which his father appeared to have no interest in.

The police box design was used to keep the cost of props for the first few episodes down, as the story cofirmed the TARDIS could morph into any shape had it been functioning correctly.

The BBC, and the remaining surviving doctors could countersue for the supply of a faulty product under the Sale of Goods Act.
