This would make a nice Christmas present for me this Christmas.
I have a new Smart TV but it has no Audio Out.
How can I get the sound out from whatever is playing on screen?
I can from my other set and pipe it around the house. But this new LG?. I can not see how. I didn´t notice that it didn´t have an audio out when i bought it. Yes I know!!!

I use the earphone/headphone socket on mine, for reasons lost in the midst of time, fed to our big stereo.

3.5mm Jack Plug to RCA cables are easy and cheap to come by.

BTW, are you using one of those new-fangled AV Surround Sound Amps, by any chance?

If so, have a gander at this _www.whathifi.com/forum/av-receivers/getting-sound-away-from-smart-tv-into-av-surround-sound

The problem with using the headphone socket is that then you have to rely on a Stereo system which I do not have connected to the TV. However I´ll tell you my setup. The Smart TV has connected to it:
Digital Terrestrial / Satelite receiver combo with USB hard drive
Terrestrial receiver with USB hard drive
DVD player / terrestrial receiver combo with interior hard drive
Old style VHS video player recorder.
All are connected to an analogue sound desk; the resulting feed from the sound box is piped to wireless speakers and wireless headphones.
So no problem getting the sound from any of these but not the direct sound from the TV which has its own Terrestrial receiver.
I am asking too much I know.

I have read the link above and will try connecting one of the HDMI to the sound desk. I´ll need to find an HDMI to RCA lead. It´ll have to be in the New Year. Celebrations go on until the 6th January around here.
Have a good one and thank you.

6th January?

Crikey, is there a glut of Sangria this year?

Any going spare - Fax it to the boys here!

Something to do with Three Wise Men arriving here on the 6th. Me ! I just get the wife.

Brilliant weather. Hot and sunny. I am so sorry for all those in the UK suffering with excess water.
