The main satellite being 19E I know, but how long is the lineup going to stay SD ?

Client has a TM5300 and SCART lead, but to justify travel cost to update the system I should really justify changing the receiver over to an HD unit.

So, is there any news on changes planned, or best guess ?
 
The FTA TVE services on Astra 1 in SD (DVB-S MPEG2) will stop in the next couple of months, and after that the HD version on 13ºE will be the only versions for Europe. A couple of the FTA "Autonómicos" on 19.2ºE have already gone DVB-S2 and need an HD receiver - I think Extremadura TV and TV Galicia (the latter being in Galician rather than Castilian though).

Otherwise for the couple of remaining FTA MPEG2 on Astra, I don't think there's any official timescale to get rid of them by Movistar+ who uplinks them. But I think that only includes Canal Sur Andalucía and Aragón TV International these days.

Something like a Primo IP S2 with the TDT Sat stuff on 30ºW would be what I'd go for, even though it's obviously not guaranteed to last forever. I've been watching those with no bother for coming on for 5 years now.
 
Great, justification for fitting the HD box then. Client has a dish on astra 19 and I don't really want to change the position if I can help it.
