Hi

How do you get the best from your spectrum for satellite ?

I own a promax prolink 4 new toy so just getting the hang of it,
Bassicly do you fine align on a strong signal or weak signal on h or v ?

I find my chosen sat not a problem , but when i fine tune for the best reception i get a few channels with ber and no signal?

Some tips and help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Don't have the Promax, but do you mean you get some channels, but a few give no signal? Maybe they are MPEG4 channels and your Promax doesn't do MPEG4?

No what i meant is i get no signal on the rceviver....

What im after is like a guide to getting the best aliment out of my spectrum ?

do u select all span on meter and check all reciving signals, or align on weakest signal or strongest signal either h or v ?

Peak it on the strongest I would have thought. That's what I do on my spectrum. No doubt one of our installers can advise on your model.

Once you are on the correct satellite and well aligned on a strong transponder, pick the frequency of one of the weaker transponders and tweak on that, particularly LNB skew.

Which satellite in particular are you pointing at and what sized dish are you using?

The prolink4 doesn't give MPEG4 BER readings, just a carrier level measurement on HD transponders. Having had the meter, I would be more than happy to give you a guided tour of how to use it, if you were here.
