Video, DVD, satellite ..all these devices have 'left/right phono outputs' to connect to hifi/amp
for stereo sound. For those with out hifi/amp is there such a thing as ...speakers with left/right phono inputs
with built in amp which can be connected to the device to get sound this way.??

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 04-Feb-02 AT 06:58 PM (GMT)]Yes Shahid, most speakers designed for computers are self amplified. All you need is a minijack to twin phono adapter and you're in like Flyn. :)

'minijack to twin phono adapter '
Is the above a wire were one end is the left/right phono which connects to my device in the audio output and the other end is a 3.5 mini plug which goes into the speakers 3.5 input?

I hope I am correct.

Yes, some are also in a one piece unit.

The nice thing is that there are some very inexpensive PC speaker systems available with sub woofers.

Jamo do a pair of speakers with an itegrated amp. for about UKL100.00.

They have a circuit which switches to standby when there is no audio signal, and I have had them home on appro.

The quality of reproduction is quite decent and they are certainly of a higher standard than most of the PC designed stuff that I have seen.

They could also be used to obtain the rear channel of dolby - non digital - by connecting them up to the two positive terminals on your output.

Shahid,

I would go for the jugular, but, that's the big vein in your neck that carries blood to the heart from the head.

Have Fun,

Mark.

Dear mljgmljg

???????????????

The forum you require is not here

www.vampiresrus.com.tr or www.bloodsuckingfiends.co.uk

Dear Teletubbies,

As usual, I was late to the thread, but, thought each 'developement' funny: my god, is it my newly developed german humour: saying what you think ?

Come on guys: see the funnyness (that's funny - with ness on the end) in the language used in the thread - laugh ! There is no high-ground.

>www.vampiresrus.com.tr or www.bloodsuckingfiends.co.uk

I would have bookmarked them - only they go nowhere; rather like your post. (tongue sticks out proud).

Have Fun,

Mark.

Shahids original question appeared to have been answered, so before I posted it seems the thread was already dead

I could always register the sites as written however I have no material on Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee or Hammer Films, on this PC. Buffy seems to have taken over the Internet anyway

Just logged-on: surprised I still have one teletubbie star left.

>Shahids original question appeared to have been answered, so ......

And, in the end, that's all that's important :-)

Didn't stop me laughing though (sorry, Shahid. Hope you're not offended - humour HAS to be a two-way exercise, afterall).

Have Fun All :-)

Not sure how these ratings get you more stars, so Ive added one more positive feedback for your user rating in the hope your self esteem recovers.

Not sure if Im breaking any rules but what the heck, living in Berlin you need all the help you can get if planning permission is like London

Dear CH,

LOL. I think I should give you a star for noticing how anal I am sometimes ?

Its only a hobby (apparently) - bastards.

Have Fun,

Mark.
