Hello everyone,
I am new to the satellite world and I request to kindly forgive my novice knowledge on the subject. I have recently bought a Spiderbox 7000HD receiver and want to set it up to watch FTA channels.
I am having trouble accessing the hidden menu when I press 1111 on the network page!! The expanded menu does NOT show up at all despite how many times I press 1111 on the remote control.
Kindly advise what I am doing wrong and please advise what needs to be done so that I can access the hidden menu on the Accessory /Network tab. Please note, I did a factory reset of the receiver prior to start setting it up.
Thank you

I doubt that there's any official support, any longer, for the Spiderbox 7000, I have a Spiderbox 9000, that I n ow only use for aligning satellite dishes.
You can still find old guides, on the internet, try google search "How to setup a Spiderbox 7000"

why use such an old receiver? also, for FTA why do you need a hidden menu - can you not scan channels without a hidden menu being active?

^^^^^^^^^^

I wondered the same :confused

From memory, you don't need the hidden menu, for FTA channels, but you do need to patch the receiver, to get other features.
But it's been a long, long, time since I've used my Spiderbox 9000, butthere are still guides, available, as well as updates.
I seem to remember that when the Spiderbox was first released, it had a gift, which required the patch, and hidden menu.
