Hello!

I have been quite disconnected from the satellite stuff for a couple of years. I remember at that time ns2 satellite sports feeds were progressively being replaced for ns4 feeds in some sports. There were also rumours that broadcasters would eventually start using cable and stop using satellite for their transmissions.

How are things at the moment? How do you think they will evolve, etc.?

Also, regarding satellites, I remember 30W, 27,5W, 12,5W, 3E, 4,8E, 7E, 10E, 13E, 16E, 19,2E, 23,6E, 28,2E being the most commonly used ones with signal in the UK. Also 55E, but difficult to find signal there. Which ones would you say are more interesting nowadays?

All Football stadiums in England whose teams play in the top 4 divisions are connected to a fibre network which is a cabled system. This is all stadium's except Barrow and Harrogate who gained promotion to League 2 this season.

At the moment BISS2 is starting to be rolled out
 
It seems there are also feeds in further satellites potentially ok for Europe, like 50W or 55W. Is it actually possible to reach those satellites from UK with a 125cm dish?


Thanks. Is biss2 only for English Football at the moment, or other countries and sports as well? Do you think it will end up being used in all the popular spots worldwide soon?

I use a 1.2 Metre Channel Master dish and live in the South East of England. My arc is from 67 East to 40 West. Good signal from 62 East to 37.6 West. Of course don't forget other obstacles can block a signal, for example buildings of all, natural objects such as trees. In theory at mean see level and without obstacles you should be able to observe 120 degrees of the heavens, 1/3 of the Earths circumference.
 
Hi guys, can anyone with a dish able to find 47,5W and 55,5W check if they can lock signal in these transponders?

47,5W": 3774 - Pol: V - SR: 7200
55W: 4148 - Pol: H - SR: 7200
 
You will need C-band capable kit for those - and a decent sized dish
