Well having watched the first three of this 'not for profit' fan made part crowd funded sequal or continuation of the Original Star Trek Series ..
I have to say ..
Once you get over the initial shock of not seeing the original actors ...
Most Impressive..
The stick very closely to the 1970/80s format ..and the story lines are not half bad ..
So ..A big thumbs up from me ..
Cheers for bringing it to my attention Chris.

oh and a nice touch by them dedicating episode 3 to Leonard Nimoy after his sad demise..

Anyone else care to comment ?

It's a pity they only did the 5 episodes. Would have been nice to watch a few more. But still a very good attempt :-)

Did you spot Deanna Troi? Or Worf?

For a fan made series, you have to take your hat of to them.

Agreed it is very well made, and the casting is spot on.

I guess that's the difference between a fan films and a major Hollywood blockbuster.

Only wish they would make more of the contiues episodes.

In the last film the director change was too much, breaking the format of the new "temporary" line, for my taste.
The fusion of chapters/films for the new delivery goes very fast, there is little left.
They will continue with the New Generation and later with Voyager??, the Borg would be very well today.
-----------

PS:Some of us need their "healing" techniques/Algunos necesitamos sus tecnicas "reparadoras".

Love Star Trek Continues, been following it since they released their first episode.

Prelude to Axanar is worth watching too, but the controversy that surrounds it is not worth going into.

I've been watching STC for a couple years now, definitely well made and more true to the original, there was another one before STC (New Voyages, later renamed Phase II) but to be honest, that was a bit lacking in comparison, though in terms of getting actors, they did have George Takei, Walter Koenig and Grace Lee Whitney reprising their original roles, whereas in STC, the only reprised TOS role so far was Apollo...

But the one part I do like a lot about STC is they have a Doohan in Engineering, with James Doohan's son Chris playing Scotty, it's like James was brought back to life and made young again... :)

I haven't seen these but I have watched some of the new film series. I like it, but there is just one thing that bothers me. I like Simon Pegg a lot and to my uneducated (southern!) English ear the accent sounds right, but would it have killed them to find a Scot to play that rôle?

Or a Canadian perhaps ?

Thought I'd post the latest episode of STC, it's a good one, and continues on from a TOS episode which initially confused the hell out of me...

And the outtakes reel, with the lot of them being very silly:

It'll be interesting to see how the new continuing series Star Trek: Discovery (set ten years before TOS I believe) fares and whether it caries the ethos on. With Jason Isaacs as the captain it has a good start.

The trailers for that Discovery thing look like something I could have done with 3DSmax and too much time on my hands, and the fact they chose a ship design that looks like one from the concept art for "Phase II" (which went on to be The Motion Picture), it all has a sense of "April Fools" about it, and I doubt I could take it seriously, but then, since the 2009 film, I haven't taken anything from the abrahmsverse seriously anway...

The design and the appearance has been infected with the abrahmsverse though, and as such, it's not "prime" in my books...

How do we know what designs were prevalent pre TOS?

Oh, the many books and deigns created by the original creators and designers who worked on Star Trek & it's spinoffs that were created over the past 50 years, that's how... :)
