1. Go to www.satsw.com

2. Download the Loader (EMUpgrade)

3. Download the zip folder for YOUR model (December)

4. Unzip it. Browse to it through EMUpgrade (Loader)

5. Click Start, turn ur reciever OFF and, then ON; wait until it upgrades and tells you that the upgrade is done!
  • If you upgrade to the new software (December), you probably will get most of the channels. (In case you don’t , then do the rest of the steps below)
  • Download the DREAMLOADER. Unzip it and run it. Click connect. Browse to the eprom file ( To get this eprom Go to h**p://www.rdi-sat.com/uploadshow.php?id=11 Download : Fun6in1mach1 7.12.2004Browse in: Fun6in1mach1 7.12.2004 > Atmega163 6in1mach1 7.12.2004 > 3-Eprom Atmega163 7.12.2004.hex)
  • Turn ur receiver OFF and then ON. Wait until you get the message that the Upgrade has been done.

Hope this was simple enough as you wanted it to be! Good Luck.

Hi Dec 650Dsuper doesn't need to any keys get the file from SATSW.com & unzip it take it to the desktop & start to upgrade it's very easy but you will lose your programs on the previous version usually.

hi everyone. as soroush says you do not need the hex files to update the 650 if you use the latest zip file on the SATSW site. The zip file contain a simple update prog and the necessary bin file which works when you connect you pc to the receiver and press start. I am now getting Multiv* TPS Polsat etc in clear. Bravo Starsat !!!!!!!

If you do not want to loose your channel list with an update, you need to do the following:

Press MENU
Go to SYSTEM SETUP
Go to SYSTEM BACKUP
Your TV will display "Saving Data"

Now download you update to the receiver

After booting, if you are asked, choose the language
Then press MENU
Go to SYSTEM SETUP
Go to SYSTEM RESTORE
Your TV will display "Waiting"
Your channel list is now restored to what it was before the update

Further. For updates of SR-X650CI Super, no need of Dreamloader. As the zipped folder you download from satsw.com contains an application file, called Simpleupload, which will do the transfer.

Hope it helps ;)

bravo deepdiver

when I uploaded v234 I never lost my channel list, but when I did the latest v235 I lost everything so your post should prove helpful next time round.

Have to say I 'm quite impressed with Starsat box

long may the air be free.

You are right. Sometimes, you update your receiver and the channel list stays. Other times it goes.
To be on the safe side, I always do the SYSTEM BACKUP, it takes few seconds.

thnks for your help deepdiver

have read some of your other posts and I see you asked about recr master codes. Did you ever find one for the 650 ? I would like to know how to change or add a key ident (not the hex/dec code which can be done using code input sceen).
Not sure if I need it given the latest software opens most channnels but just curious

It is only possible to change the hex key, as you say with the input code option. Ident are added with software updates, if there is any new available. Recently, the Bliss system was added to SR-X650CI Super.
