store epg data on pc drive

Inverto 'Black Series' 0.2dB Twin LNB,
Moteck DiSEqC 1.2 motor,
Dreambox 500s

This maybe a stupid question but I will try anyway. In the idiots guide it tells you how to move plugins to your hd and access them via a mount, can this same idea be used to store epg information on your pc hd.
I am not sure where the epg information is stored but it might be possible for us 500s owners.

Since I didn't get any replies I gave it a go and it works. I now have the epg data stored on a nfs mount on my pc hd. So far have around 25 channels with 1 day full epg and works fine. I will add all the sky sats and see how well it works.
