Hi. I wonder if anyone can help me. This is 1st time of using system, so sorry if I'm doing it wrongly!

I have Sky+ at my home in UK, and have my old standard Panasonic TU-DSB20 digibox with normal Sky in another part of the house for a further £10/month. I want to use system in my villa in Cyprus, by taking my viewing card with me on hols. So I bought a s/h Amstrad digibox DRX200 to use.

I tried out the Amstrad at home in place of the Panasonic to make sure ok, and found that I couldn't get sport and movie channels, but could get all the other ones, inc. ITV Ch4 etc. A message on screen said that the digibox was not the one to use with my card. I subscribe to all channels, and cannot understand this. I thought all Sky digiboxes were the same, apart from sensitivity, quality etc. Anybody know a reason for this?
Also, what are the most sensitive (for weak signals) digiboxes one can buy?

Graham:-doh!

No, the card is paired to the individual digibox, this is what the message is telling you. The basic channels will work in any box, but not premium channels.

Have moved this to the Sky section.

the reason is simple : it is to stop anybody from taking their premium card to all their friends to watch the premium channels over there.
your sky card is indeed "married" to one single skybox only, and will show those premium channels on that digibox alone ! So if you want to watch your premium channels in Cyprus, you'll have to take your normal digibox with you (and back again when you come back, of course).....

And another Q graham, has Pissouri been developed much in the last 10 yrs? I was there one Feb in georgeous weather, 10 yrs ago and missus & I were the only 2 on the beach. I liked the lunch menus: bream and bream; bream, bream and bream; bream, bream with extra bream and lots of village wine at 50p a bottle. Oh, and I had quite a nice fly omelette, or rather, half of one. There was just Pepe's bar on the beach but he was building.

You wouldn't recognise the place. Massive continuous development, in the village and down round the beach area.
