Strange signal problem. Please help!!

Hello,
I've tm 1500 ci, an Invacom Lnb and a Motec Motor. For last few days I'm experiencing strange signal problems.At night I loss signals on any transponder (v)upto 11.700 frequency on any sat. I also loss some of Horizontal TPs too. At day time the same TPs are back to normal with good signal. For example I loss tps, at 13 deg east, at night and in day time it's back with good signal. I have also noticed when I switch on and off the stb, sometimes signal comes back but slowly it goes down to red. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
 
Yes, buy a new LNB :)

That appears to be the problem there, I had a similar thing a while ago but in the midday heat instead.

I'm no sat expert, but it could be the weather. My friend bought a new TV reecently and wanted help tuning it in. He doesn't have a sat dish or freeview, but he was picking up, with sound, broadcasts from Europe, Germany, France, Netherlands, etc.

It used to be a hobby in the late 1970s/early 1980s, called D-Exxing, or something like that. It's when the weather is good and the skies are clear, broadcasts from foriegn countires travel that bit further.

I remember picking up Grampian TV (based in Scotland) in Newcastle in 1984 when the weather was good, but NOTHING during cloudy or winter months.
 
It does sound like the lnb, but check before buying a new one! Look at what your receiver signal display shows; on all channels the strength/quality should go down if the lnb's to blame.

A peculiar fault! I can understand lnb complete failure, but the conversion oscillator frequency is crystal derived, and should be stabilised against external temperature changes.

Nothing to do with tv DXing, which remains popular, with regular columns in ham radio magazines.
