Vu uno, VU Duo2, sky dish, 2 zone 2 dishes for 19.2 and 23.5. Satlink meter, rover STCeu meter. Tripod with a dish for messing around.

hi,

i have a 500 which i would like to stream the fotty to to my mates house. i have looked at the tuts but the are all designed for old versions of firmware or 7025 /7020 with the old version of VLC

can anyone either point me or make a quick tut on how to do it these days?

What sort of connection to you have to the net, upload wise? You're gonna need a pretty hefty pipe if your talking about streaming to mates (plural). I have a 4Mb down/up and can barley get away with 2-3 people watching a stream to a very good spec media server.

Regardless, what image have you got on the 500/800? It's a simple thing to do, really. Open a port to the web interface of the DM and get your mates to click the VLC button, it should start streaming straight away when opened with VLC/Media Player Classic.
 
thanks fella, i was looking to do a stream so they dont have to log in to my webif, i wish it was just easier, i have both a 500 and an 800 and if i stream it would be to one or 2 at the most. i have a 1.5 upload
