There is a very interesting thread about streaming video with VLC.
Search the forum and you might find the solution that you are looking for.
Be prepared for a loss of video quality as a result of encoding the signal to create the video stream.
Another method perhaps might be using a SlingBox. Again please search the forum with keyword Slingbox.

Personally I can't bear a lower quality video and I would change the LNB to a dual one and get a cable down to the second room and buy either another receiver or another DVB-S PC card or USB.
It will be cheaper in the long run since streaming requires a costly monthly broadband connection.

Thanks for the reply but i ment stream the program im viewing on the pc, over my network at real time, seems to work if i record the program onto my pc then tell my x-box to read the file while its recording. thanks

VLC has streaming to Network.
Just dl the application and test with the Wizard.

ProgDVB also has a media server built in so you can stream live. I've used it on my laptop as well without problems (if I use wired, wireless is as reliable as I can get the connection).
No idea if you could get it on an X-Box though

I stream over my wired network to xbox running media centre with DVB Dream & VLC.
Once you have dvb dream running go to options, prefrences, LAN streaming & activate.
Now open VLC and click on wizard, stream to network, choose, click on network tab, this should show defalt settings of UDP/RTP & port set to 1234 if it doesnt set them to this & click OK then next. Now choose HTTP & leave bottom box blank, MPEG TS, Finish. Now make sure in VLC audio is set to the same channel as the one you are using in DVB dream.
Now what I do to get it on my Xbox is on my C drive on my PC which the IP is 192.168.1.4 I have a small line of text written with notepad which reads http://192.168.1.4:8080 now save this on a drive on your computer that is shared on your network but onced saved change the .txt extension to .strm
Now on your xbox media centre go to video, press back and on the righthand side choose workgroup and navigate to your saved .strm file.
Hopefully you should now be watching your satellite if you have no sound check audio on VLC is set to the same as DVB Dream.
