Hello!
with this topic,i want to try to find out, about the strong signal difrence of this in the meantime old satellite!
the indian dordarsshan on 4034 19559 3/4.is one of them with the strongest variations,in the signal!
i want to find out now, when someone in diffrent areas and location, receive it,and what time, dish size is important, and maybe weather condition, temperatur outside also!
then we can see maybe some conformities
in the day/night signal vatiations of each transponder depend on location here in europe, and also other areas,on lyngsat,it looks that this satellite has only 2 beams, but, also in other conitinents,it is not posible to receice all transponders all the time!
with a 2.40m mesh dish!

with 3,66 m mesh for sure it would work, but it is imposilbe to install this size on the roof..

i recogneized, that the variation of signal, affects transponder that use both polarity, with nearly the same freqency, nhk for example, signal here very stable, use nealry the same freqency, with diffrent symbolrates, then one multichoice transponder, the stronger signal,of nhk, take most of the signal on other polarisation away!
in the meantime i got information a solarpanel of intelsat 10 is damage and satellite lost power 25%,does anyone know when intelsat 10 will be replaced, hope the signal will be much stronger in the future !
when every one reports the signal, and the strenth on that time,he receive it,then my target is to make like a signal time table,i dont get all transponders here,my best result was 170 channels with the blindscan,in nighttime when its fog outside or cold and clear sky signal is best, very bad when it is sunny and bluesky! sometimes then i got only 120-130 chanels, and the rest comes back in the night, but weak transponders that are near together, are most affected by the signal variantions, sometimes,a transponder,of the lower freqency is stronger, then it change, and the higher nabour transponder, have more signal and via versa!

It may be some atmospheric problems, since when I was testing this sat, it was clear and frosty winter, for 3-4 days I noticed no significant change in signal strength.

I have da same problemo Turok.Very happy that you opened this topic:)

I have only a 150cm dish and MTI 15K lnb , but I got good signals from some tp of this bird. The DD channers are not watchable right now for me , outside is sunny weather

I try to get India tv which has very strong signal but I have it only I rotate 90degreess the lnb .In that case I lose a lot of channels

nhk is stable , CCTV also, dm digital too

What about da KHYBER tv-s Turok got them?

Hello Drofsat!
on a germany board,i see 2 weeks ago,also a member,with the name drofsat he has a 3 meter dish,are this another person?

the kyber transponder with the music channels k2,sometimes is here, with good picture in the night when its cold ,currencly i have no signal!

mtv india is one of the strongest transponder ,but it seems to be imposible to get a smartcard for this channel!

All channels working great during the day but some channels stop working at night any reason why is it so?.:confused:

Kind Regards

Hamdan From MRU

In order to save power broadcasters attempt to maintain an acceptable signal to noise ratio (in the dedicated transmission areas). At night solar noise is much lower, so the power of the transmission can be reduced without affecting reception unless you are in a fringe area or have a poor alignment / equipment - where the lower signal drops out of range.

We are also just about in eclipse season - the spacecraft has to switch to the onboard batteries when the sunlight to the solar panels is blocked.

In fringe reception areas the signal sometimes falls marginally but enough to disrupt viewing.

Hello !
first hd dvb s2 transmissions has startet on this satelite in cband!
3716 H 20770 3/4
the transponder,is splitted in normal dvb s and s2 channels now!
currencly no signal, last time i get this transponder, was in winter time when it was minus 15 outside!
hope the avcom feedhorn from austrialia will get more singal then!

mgm 3764 R 2950 3/4 is open at the moment, also no signal on this transponder!

What channels. DD may be sometimes low but watchable on a 2.4 m dish. One weak tp for me is 3808 V ( God TV) or 3836 V MChoice. There is variation on all satellites. The peak time is different for different sats.
Hamdan we are out of footprint for PAS 10 but PAS 7 signal is very high e.g 3661V (Noor TV). The two sats are colocated at 68.5 deg East.PAS 10 has been a tough beast for me. On a motorised 3.4 M mesh dish I tracked from AB3( 5W) to Measat (91E) but PAS 10 remain difficult. As if you have to rotate LNB ( different skew) to get it right.
Today we have sun interference here in Mauritius but expect some channels to go OFF in a few days from now. The Transmitting station may be experiencing sun outage.

About 3 to 6% SQ difference from C band Day to night due to the D and E layers. See Picture.

sounds very good, what is this type of the chappral feedhorn now,can you still buy it in usa ,what is the price?
,how much you would charge for a self made scalarring?
what is the secret that it performs better then the orginal?
reverse engeneering;)

Turok-

Sorry, were you asking me?

If so, I would be happy to send you one for the cost of shipping. Shipped via USPS. weight about 10 oz.

I am on a deployment now and will be back in my shop in May 2010.

This device makes the dish resonate like a microwave cavity.
