The I/R sensor in my Strong SRT 6420 receiver seems to have died and basic operation (ie on/off, channel up/down) is only possible through the front panel buttons. The remote control is fully functional and has been tested via a digital camera screen.
Is a third party repair to the box feasible/worthwhile or should I resign myself to a replacement? Unfortunately, the installed viewing card is valid for further 2.5 years and may not be transferable to another receiver.
