hi there,
does anyone have jkeys for strong srt4355 evo?
i am trying to jtag it but there is an error and it does not recognize the sti5518bvc.
any help plese

When the MPU is not recognized from jKeys, than you can't do anything with the flash memory. There is a problem with your JTAG-interface - check it one more time.

btw, what is the flash memory in this model?

i have checked and rechecked my jtag and everything seems to be fine(but i know something is wrong), what is really strange is once when trying to connect to the receiver i actually did it! it recognized de mpu but it was that once!
do you think that there is a conflict with win xp service sp2?
 
I don't think it's a problem with WinXP SP2 - I have it too and there is not problem. May be the settings of the LTP-port? Or the cable between the JTAG and the STB is too long? I think, it shouldn't exceed 15-20cm...
Someone with more experience out there?...

now i've menage to connect it to mpu! it recnognizes the 5518 it reads the flash but does not let me to erase or program it!
any ideas please??????

You schould run Wall.exe just after the window from jKeys, that tells you to switch the stb off, than on and (but that windows stays open, so don't click OK yet);; than click "OK" on the error-message from Wall (just ignore it, it's normal), and leave wall running. Return to jKeys and now click "OK". I have to do this sometimes a few times.

but can you please tell me wich ird model you select after jkeys identify the cpu, because it says "unknown"(i bet it has no importance!).
this receiver is driving me crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, the IRD model is very important... When you choose an IRD, than jkeys knows what kind of flash memory is in it and what is its structure (that is defined in the defininition file - jKeys.def). So if you don't have an entry for your STB in this file, you have to edit it... What is the flash-memory in your Strong? Eventually you can choose another model in the list, that has the same CPU and flash (you can find it by opening the Jkey.def in Notepad).

in the jkey i am using no matter what ird i choose the the flash is always the same(M28W160CT) that's why i'm saying it has no importance!
any way i was told that i cannot write ou program the memory because it's protected! the question is how to overcome the problem!

i managed to connect but i need def file because i can't do anything to the M28W160 (srt4355 Evo)
