Short bursts of activity in various places and polarity - hard to catch due to being very short bursts.

C'mon @moonbase , Saw the end off the LNB and stick it in an old Invacom flange and slap in on one of your big ones and tell us what it is;-)

Best I could do would be to strap one of the cheap chinese junk Ku-Extendo LNB's on to a Precision 2.0m dish and roll it across the patio to get sight of 30.9E.

Very active this early morning in the 'New Ku' band section with H & V signals. Screen grab shows wide carriers simultaneously on H & V

First locked (strong!) signal in vertical scan here (John above) - but it looks like "reflection" from 30.5°E, I think.
LBC on 10993 V not lockable at this time with 2.2m from my place - see my current attached scan.

@dx qwer Are you using a 2.2m dish for this band as well?

>'but it looks like "reflection" from 30.5°E, I think.'<
Interesting - checked the footprint for me for 30.5E Arabsat 5a/5b/Astra 5b etc and their footprints don't come close to me here approx 17k North of Nottingham UK and there is no sign of any signals on my 1.2 CM that's covering Ku normal , for s-band on the southern UK coast area and others in Europe will have a better chance of seeing signals from 30.5E.
Iv'e set up my two speckies looking at 30.9E 'New Ku' on my 1.2 Gibby and the other one on 30.5E on the 1.2 CM.
Monitoring 13444 V shows this signal with me switching on & off abruptly , it is not a constant signal as i might have expected to see if it was an reflection from the 30.5E signal ?.
Activity on 'New Ku' has dropped to almost nothing now for the time being apart from the 13.401V marker but i'll keep monitoring it.

I agree with you. I don't see anything on this frequency either. I have an LNb with an oscillator frequency of 12,800. Maybe it has something to do with it and the reflections are not visible in all. One would have to check who has which LNBs?

For reference:
My 1.2 CM looking at 30.5 E normal Ku uses a pll standard Universal lnbf - 9750 / 10600
The 1.2 Gibby looking at 30.9 E uses a cheap Chinese 'New Ku band' H/V capable lnbf with LO of 11800 MHz.

Nice observation, Arabsat-6A uplink band for 10950...11200 is 14000...14250 MHz.
This would mean 14000...14250 MHz is also the uplink band for 13400...13650 MHz of Turksat 5A.

Is the term "reflection" used to mean "image response"? The image responses, for both 11.8 & 12.8LO do not correspond to LBC on Arabsat.

I think that 13444V is definitely coming from Turk5A (and 13446V 1300 5/6 8PSK when it popped up). My LO is 11.3GHz and has minimal spurious responses apart from the internally generated one.

It's interesting that the pair of signals that I saw here: Türksat-5a and new ku band?? correspond to LBC int HD and LBC int on Arabsat

Whilst I was typing this, @hvdh beat me to a possible explanation. However, for some reason, I thought Turk5A uplink was 14.5-14.75 but I can't find anything to back that up.

10994 -10950 = 44
13400 + 44 = 13444
However, if it was from LBC HD uplink to Arabsat, why wasn't LBC SD there as well, except during the earlier observations?

I also thought 13.4...13.65 MHz would have that uplink band, since it is "new" as well in ITU Radio Regulations.
Apparently then, this up/downlink band combination is not obligatory.

Unless they are playing with the switching matrix. Since sometimes there are carriers and wide 36MHz signals in that TP without LBC, it suggests to me that there may be more than one way to uplink to that transponder.
