Hi going to mount a penta 85 aluminium dish between a pair of T & K brackets using an thick wall aluminium pole about a 1mtre apart and was wondering which one of the brackets wants to go to the top i.e. the T or the K .Had a look around and seen pictures of setups with them either way round is it a personal choice as either way is good .Your thoughts please. Thanks in advance. Regards Malcolm
P.S. any thoughts on which motor
1 Technomate TM-2600 or 2 super dark motor
Lmb Inverto 0.2db ultra

I tend to use the K at top as it provides more support if the dish tries top topple over and use the T as a stabalizer at the bottom.

If its a long pole i.e the dish needs to be above the gutter line then i tend to use 1 T & 2 K's then theirs less sway in the wind and less chance it will move out of allignment

If you're using a Penta 85 Aluminium, then the brackets don't need to be 1m apart, 18" will do. The brackets are designed for the vertical load bearer to be at the bottom, the top bracket only providing bracing in the horizontal plane. for a small installation like that, it is of no real significance which way round they go, just make sure the fixings are adequate. I still favour T at the top, if I need more bracing, I, like Jon, use more than one set.:)

PS. The argument between T at top versus K at top has been raging amongst installers for years. ;)

Exactly, I prefer the K near the top as you then get one more anchor nearest the dish, however the ideal method is to install the dish (or dish/motor combination) in the middle of the two.

Hi guys, thanks for the info, I was going to mount the dish and motor between the brackets which I was going to space at around 24” ish seen some pictures like that. A bit of the pipe which will be above the top bracket used to mount a small sky dish fixed at 28 east will place the small dish as close to the top of the penta as I can when its at 1w .Will that make any difference to which way they go or would I be better putting the small dish straight to the wall and leaving just the penta on the brackets. Thanks in advance .Regards malcolm

Do whichever you think would be easiest, as either on the wall or on the same pole is fine.
