Tandberg Alteia Problem

Hello!

(Hope I chose the correct forum section for my thread.)

I buyed a Tandberg Alteia from USA (ebay).
Everything seems working fine. Receiver-Display-messages:
"Signak OK" "Lock" "Audio OK" Video OK" etc.

But I only get sound - no video. (TV gets no video-signal at all.)
Message on the display: "SYNC FAIL" "ASYNC FAIL"

Is anyone familiar with those professional broadcast receivers?
How can I solve the problem?

American kit will be running at 60Hz. Most European kit runs at 50Hz.

If the tv isnt multi standard it wont be able to handle the difference.

My TV runs at 50Hz. Is there a possibility to solve it? Adaptor?
 
Did some research. Im not sure if the 60Hz-thing is the problem. The receiver can do:
625 line /50Hz video: PAL-B, D, G, H, I, N, CN
525 line/60Hz video: PAL-M, NTSC-M

There is an option where I can put in a frame-synchronisation-offset. Could that be required?

No idea, but its the best idea I could come up with.

Presumably you are trying to watch PowerVu signals with that box?

No, I want to pick up 4:2:2-feeds.
 
If its for domestic use there are easier ways of getting 4:2:2 feeds than with an exceedingly complicated professional receiver - the Skystar PCI card for one.

To be honest I rather doubt you will get much help here on the forum - we have plenty of experience with hobby boxes, but not many of our members have ever had the chance to play with professional grade receivers.
 
Just out of interest really, are there any other cheaper/hobby boxes which are capable of picking up 4:2:2 feeds apart from the Skystar PCI?
 
What's the model of the receiver? TT1260?

The Tandberg IRDs are capable of both NTSC and PAL.
625/50: PAL
525/60: NTSC

In the frame Sync an analog reference signal is connected in order to have the video of all sources syncronized (necessary for studios).
