Tax man to start clamping cars in Berlin

Car owners in Berlin risk having their cars clamped - if they don't pay their tax bills.

Anyone late paying their car, income or even dog tax could find their cars clamped.

They will then have three more days to pay up - before their cars are auctioned off.

Three of the city's tax offices are taking part in a pilot scheme to see if the new system is effective.

Berliner Zeitung reports that about 10% of the city's tax payers are late with their payments.
