TBS Card 6983

For starters TBS will only release official s/w 3rd party s/w will have different options and features. Also the 6983 is a fairly new card and our first stocks are due next week and even we have not played with one, lastly we will ship anywhere European shipping is £15 by Royal Mail Int Signed For.

The TBS technicians will listen to s/w ideas so just email your ideas or needs to support@tbsdtv.com

Using new StreamReader file.dll(test version) and EBSpro 12.0.0.1 (Beta version),MIS transponders can be found with EBS,what before it was impossible. It also can be activated directly TSReader tool or VLC player.
It should be noted that for now EBS has partial support before CrazyCat ensure full support for TBS6983 card.
I did the test at 5W where we have few MIS transponders.

ps_I have to thank again to @CrazyCat and,of course, to @CjCr.

I have a problem with this version satesco.

Won't set to Blindscan2, even though I've set it in Options - Blindscan. Blindscan pop-up when searching a carrier, and we know it doesn't work using that.

Never had that in earlier versions.

Change the two files(.dll & .ini)StreamReader in folder EBS with S.Reader(version test). ini file has log=1,not 5 , as is the old one.

That's the ones I have (pointed to by you in your post) - 17/11/2014 and 18/11/2014.

Not sure what the problem was, but I have it now. Thanks for the update info.

I see what I did earlier - I tried it in BS mode, should have been in DT mode.

Is TBS 6983 more sensitive than TBS 6925 for a "normal" signal e.g. 23Msps/8-PSK ?

31.5E very difficult to lock here in the UK. I didn't know there was a MIS TP on 7W. I'll check that one out.

There's a new EBSPro update from CjCr - 12.0.0.2.

Not sure if the reported RF Level is correct, seems very low compared to a TBS5925. -68dBm against -59dBm.

Llew, can you point me in the direction of the EBSPro ver 12.0.0.2 please

John, best way to keep up with the many changes to EBSPro versions is to go to the Easy Blindscan Pro section below. The latest version can be downloaded from there.
Need to register though.

Hi all,

StreamReaderEx-BDA 1.2.2.1248 (Beta)
http://crazycat69.narod.ru/sattelite/StreamReaderEx/test/StreamReaderExEx-BDA.rar
* Full TBS 6983 support with direct hw control STV6120/STV0910ADB
* Ultra-fast and accurate BLScan2() implementation for STV910. Hardware-accelerated edge detection + find unlockable transponders (with poor snr and negative link margin).
* New function ModInv() - detection available frame modcodes for DVB-S2 transponders. Implemented only for STV091x (now only TBS 6983)
* Rewriten CXD2820R support. Extended SingnalInfo2 with specific DVB-T2 params.

For 6983 possible force single mode and double LDPC FEC performance (DemodMode=1 in streamreader.ini). STV6120 is wide-band tuner, so possible extend IF range to 250-2150MHz (IFStart, IFStop in streamreader.ini).
With current 6983 drivers better always use Tuner A, because using B cause driver lockup after close !!!

CrazyScan 1.0.2.112 (Beta)
http://crazycat69.narod.ru/sattelite/StreamReaderEx/test/CrazyScan.rar
* Modcode selection simplified,
* Read available frame modcodes for DVB-S2 transponders in Carrier search dialog (if ModInv() supported)
* Mark unlockable transponders and ACM/VCM.
* User-defined freq ranges selection in Range tab. Predefined ranges defined in ranges.txt file.
* Move some style-specific checkboxes to Style tab.
* Save BLScan2 checkbox state in settings.

BLScan, BLScan2 1.2.0.1247
http://crazycat69.narod.ru/sattelite/StreamReaderEx/BLScan.rar
http://crazycat69.narod.ru/sattelite/StreamReaderEx/BLScan2.rar
* Show in report unlockable transponder,

StreamReaderExSDK updated (API, BLScan, BLScan2)
http://crazycat69.narod.ru/sattelite/StreamReaderEx/StreamReaderEx-SDK.rar

* Ultra-fast and accurate BLScan2() implementation for STV910. Hardware-accelerated edge detection + find unlockable transponders (with poor snr and negative link margin).
That's a very handy feature.

Well done - great job as always!

... Thank you CrazyCat, a Christmas present come early.
