TBS Card 6983

It should be active.. in theory!
Agreed CJ...
but taking nothing for granted this time..
;)

...and I'll use/ waste a USB stick ..and register the license to that ..
Just in case I make further hardware changes.

Hopefully I got this bit right ..
plugged a usb stick in the back of the PC ..
selected USB
searched for it ...once found
ticked UDP/RTP.BDA free of charge..
sent my automated application with the 'online' button
Now we wait ..and cross fingers..

TBS6983 has found a transponder with low symbol rate on the Astra 2F-28.2E:11173 H,341,3/4,QPSK.The first of its kind on this satellite. What's great is that the card has found it on almost non-existent signal on the Analyzer. It is, if you will, a confirmation of the extraordinary sensitivity of the tuner, which I mentioned elsewhere.

You're right, I was supposed to say that I used Crazyscan with TBS6925 card just to prove that TBS6983 knows how to find transponders even when the signal is very weak.Of course that it is not possible to use Crazyscan with TBS6983 card.In fact TBS Blindscan found it,and not Crazyscan. You can see in the picture, which I edited it.

Good find :) ..took me some time to get a lock with my 5925. Seems to be a null packet test signal with different flags in the header.

Ok ...
have been given permission to post these replies from Frank at ABC :-
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First reply :- to my query about the server and activation ...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Evan,
We had and continue to have trouble with the automated licensing server.

People were hacking into the system and used it for their however criminal activities. We don't want to be part of this, so we had to shut down the service.

In order to still allow for this service to our interested users, I decided to port the server into a virtual machine on my laptop.

At least, I now know when it is doing something....

That means, there will be no 20 secs delay between request and answer, but I will power up the server once per day to let it process.

For you, this means you send a request through the mechanism provided in the content analyser and you will receive a code by the end of the day.

Hope that's acceptable.

Best regards.
Frank

I then asked if it was ok to forward the info he provided ..
---------------------------------------------------------------------
2nd reply
-------------------

Hi Evan,
Yes go ahead and post the reply. It's not bad intentions that I pulled the plug, it's a message from our ISP, the big T in Germany that read lawyers all over it...

If you have any suggestions regarding the SW, please let us know. We are currently restructuring, as our key software guy Ekkehard decided to do something else. Maybe you know that we are a commercial outfit... Now I need to work out how to continue. In any case, there will be updates, maybe not as frequently as before.

Best regrade and have a nice weekend,
Frank

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
It has come as a surprise that Ekkehard is no longer in the team and producing the software..

I have just emailed Frank back to thank him ..and suggest he might like to subscribe to our forum ..
I don't doubt he is a busy man ..and mentioned that members wouldn't be too demanding of his time..
..but might be a useful way to connect to end users ..
afterall ..in his previous email he welcomed suggestions and feedback

Just letting you know Frank has agreed to join the Forum ..at some point.
..He tells me he is more a harware guy than software ..
Indeed ..it is sad the Ekkehard although still registered on or forum is no longer ascociated with ABC ..and perhaps why he didn't reply to my PM.
anyway ..when Frank does join ..please make him welcome.

Hi

How to Setup tsreader in tbs6983. I want a source.

Can tbs6983 receive frequencies in tsreader 16, 32apsk?

You can download TSReaderSource file for TBS6983 card from here
TSReader can be used from EBS Pro only frequencies in Dvb-S2 and Dvb-S2/8PSK,those in 16 and 32 APSK not yet.You must know that TBS6983 card does not have full support from CrazyCat,only limited for BLScan2.Still need to wait.

I can tell you as UK distributor and after speaking with TBS that the 6908 is not being released for some time as they do not want to upset sales of the 6985 Quad card and that the person given a sample should not have published this for now.

hi radtv
i look at your redappledigital homepage
do you ship also to austria?

you are UK distributor of TBS products can you tell me why creates technicans of TBS not by herself this "streamreader.dll"
to get full support of TBS6983 to software EBSpro and CrazyScan
at the moment seems that all debends to crazycat to get (or get not) full support of this softwares

because this my software :)
