TBS Card 6983

This unreal because no open-source driver for stv6120/stv091x :)
A pity indeed. A great tuner compromised for the general user by not having access to the open-source. At least it's good to have your workaround to use on a Win OS :)

Feedsat_DXer, you seem to be e real DX enthusiast.
Are you fully satisfied with blindscan offered by 6983?

Thanks.

The 6983 has a fast scan and a very fast and accurate blind scan (a perfect combination with crazyscan or EBS PRO) .
Compared to the 5925 or 6925 it's a true new generation, a good job done by TBS and ofcourse by crazycat for the streamreader upgrade.
It's my point of view.

Yes, me too, I prefer the version with the bug. for Dxers it's more than a bug it's really helpful

Because I am also touched by the same "microbe", I prefer that Crazyscan to find as many signals even at the cost of a bug.Naturally between our logic, as passionate, and CrazyCat, as a programmer, there is a difference: he sees the application's internal structure, whereas we do not see it, as mere beneficiaries.
But till he will fix StreamReader, I've replaced it with version from 1.0.2.112.Now Crazyscan v.1.0.2.115 scans, read and lock all the useful signals with both cards.

I have updated with the latest firmware

I am glad for you that soon you can use DekTec card at full capacity.Of course that I am curious about the results. But until then, maybe Crazycat help you in this matter.

Doesn't the (closed) TBS driver provide all the required functions for the card through its API?

Then a programmer writes a program that makes use of the API calls?

Yes, thanks. 1.2.2.1257 locks straight away on ACM/VCM feeds now with this example. Finds the TPs with both versions, but wouldn't lock to 18567V on the previous one.

Same sentiment to Frank from me. No card though :(

I join Vipersan's sentiment to wish Frank a warm Merry Christmas for what he has done and is doing for us, dxers!I wish him that next year will be better than it was this year, which soon ends.
The same feelings of joy also for @CrazyCat,whose generosity has stimulated our activity and without which our work would have been poorer.
My deep respects for both of them. With such people, world is little better...:-applause

please help me to fix error ts reader

Slightly off topic but ..... has anybody had any difficulty accessing or logging in to the CoolSTF site recently ?.
I tried to re-new my TSReader Standard licence the other night, accepted payment ok and had the acknowledgedment back from the site to say it had re-newed and to follow the link to sign in.
I kept getting access denied, and even a request several time to re-set the password failed. Even an email to Rod has had no reply.

All sorted, thanks to Rod.

I got my TBS6983 card a few weeks ago and I must say for a normal signal e.g. QPSK or 8-PSK in a SR of 22 or 23 Ms/s this card is less sensitive than my old TBS6925. The difference is quit big, approx 0.5-1 dB which is not so good since I fight for the last dB in receiving Astra 2 UK beam. I guess there can be some variation between card but this is at least what I get.
The card also take days to switch channel so in an HTPC application it's not recommended. Best application is probably for receiving low symbol rate channels ("DX"). My TBS6985 has also better sensitivity but suffers with the "Continuity counter error" problem..
