Yes Dave, a nice compact and what looks like well made, but still analogue meter. Quite useful though for a hobbyist. :)

Hi,

My veredict: completly useless!

Buy an Emitor Digisat PRO, or, even better, an Emitor Digisat PRO Accu.

They will certainly be cheaper and have more functions, as they do support DiSEqC-1.0/1.2.

The problem with these low-spec meters is that they will only show the total signal, without any information how good you receive the individual transponders.

Also, you won't get any information regarding the signal quality (BER/SNR).

Cheers,
vma

The digisat Pro doesn't give much more information, certainly not BER etc, these meters are still useful for basic alignment.

I agree, I have aligned my dishes with a lot worse.:), and still got them spot on, with a little patience.

Alas not everyone posses such qualities Robbo71
On the other hand I have ooodles of it hence I do not have a meter.

Of course if it is your livelyhood then a meter can easily be justified

I set my motorised dish up just by eye ( or was it luck), and got most of the sats on my arc.:p

That was not what I meant: The Digisat Pro certainly costs less and has more features as the Tecatel meter.

Of course they are better than nothing, but on the other hand, they don't help you that much, either.

And yes, before I had my Satlook Digital NIT, I just used to take a TV and receiver to the roof.

Cheers,
vma
