techinical reason,why,dreambox,want to wake up,after replugging power cord?

can anyone explain me,why the dm 800 ,always need between 7,and then attempts,to wake up",after replugging the power cord,(coldreboot)when system freeze for example,esasaly ever happens,on the cyfra,nds transponders on hotbird
,i noticed,that the posiblity,that the dm 800 weak up earlier,is much higher,when the phase,of the power conector,at the other end of the power supply, has been contorted!
then i need sometimes,only one atement,to restart,from cold reboot,or maximum 3,instrad of 7 when i dont contorted the power cable,the network,ethernet lamp,on the backside,shows,me also in case,when dm 800 display is dark,that it light on and power is here!
currencly i dont know the problem,maybe the bootloader it self,and its software ,and not hardware based,or maybe the same,i dont know!

so we need a technican reverse engener,to analyse this seldom phenomenon

i could also imagine,that the clamping,comes,from the power supply,is not strong enough

does dm 500 and dm 800 has the same power supply specifications?

maybe it works better,with other more stable powersupply?

I have the same problem running gemini v3.9, v3.8, v3.7, v3.6

It can take several attempts to start up. Very anoying especially as it crashes a lot when channel surfing.

Hello Turok,
Did the receiver behave the same way when you just bought it and tested it with the original software?
Can you try flashing the original software and see if you encounter the same problem?
You should report this to the shop and see what they say if the original software also gives problems.

after upgrading,via Menu Software Upgrade,the receiver freezed also,first time,first i was thinking it was fault,then after 5 t 10 reunplugging attempts,i was able to flash the gimini ,and now its always the same,so never unpluged the mainpower,only normal standby then works great,but iam currencly not sure,is this problem "Normal",or does my power supply have a strange fault?

In my opinion, this is not normal for any satellite receiver, especially with the price that you paid for it.
You should have reported it to Dreambox or the shop for a replacement or to sort it out.
But if you send it back, make sure that it has the original software.

You can Find..."How To Modification" on Official Dreambox Board...
You can use just wire or PolySwitch.
No problem anymore !!!
Actually it is a "Design "problem...There is no Reset IC for Proccessor.
Very easy and cheap modification.

when i make this modifucation,then warrenty is lost,hope the send me a new fixes power supply,then i can change it,at the moment i dont see any seal,that could be damaged ,when the box was openend..!

in the meantime,i got response,from dream multimedia
about this strange power supply "fault"

the hotline,is completly busy,and no one picks up the phone!



Due to the fact that the box has an external power supply,
which has no off (such as the DM7025 +),
This is more or less a protective function, because in the box yet
Residual tension is included
which has yet to be unloaded.
There are not our "Hardwarefix" therefor.
A new power will not help here because it is not at PSU
but on the box.
What you can try, is the small spring, which in receipt of
12V socket on the back of the unit sits, easy to bend downwards.

if you pull the plug out the back and straight back in thats a reboot,i was puzzled by this but works every time
in the morning i plug it into mains ,then quickly remove replace lead at back of box job done
