shes just packed up on me :-(, no power, anyhow ive just taken out the power supply and it looks like this cap is to blame were could I get one from please

Are you absolutely sure it's that one? The goop looks like glue to hold the thing in place rather than the electrolyte gak they spew out when they die, not to mention, if that one popped, you'd know about it given the size of it... :)
 
That cap looks alright from that photo,no bulging is there?
 
I took it to maplins and the chap put a test on it but he did have the shakes :-0 and said it was that cap, but I am not convinced as the testing probes kept coming of the solder,

the first chap that took a look at it in maplins got a shock from it lol, after a closer look after posting it does look like glue.

so no I am not sure its that I did test the fuse on the board whilst I was there and the fuse is fine,

would a psu board from a technomate 3000d work in the 1500?

Have you tried Technomate in London ?

They may do you reasonable deal on a replacement PSU.
 
I have a tm1500 here doing nothing if you want another for spares ?
