I have just installed one of these with an 85 cm motorised dish in Lancashire, UK. What a step forward. 5 channels suddenly becomes 5000.

If, for example, I wanted a few extra channels and I have a computer online, what would be the best way forward?

I believe I have not said anything untoward here? Correct me if I am wrong.

Well you do not say it it is motorised or what sat you are looking at but you can either patch the receiver or install a cam.

you need an rs232 null modem cable to connect your receiver to pc
 
Well it is motorised and I'm looking at most major powerful birds which can be seen with 80 cm. Which one of these should I focus on with a patch downloaded from the above mentioned?

Also, what are these hex files? are they in addition to the patch?

Thanks for responding to my thread so far. I'm really pleased that I've got a system that looks like it will be hours of fun. In some ways the fiddling around is more interesting than watching the programmes, but I'm not sure that the missus will agree with that!

Yes, the patch from Darkman at alsat is the way to go with your box. Tried and tested (although not by me!). Forget any other 'hex' files etc. Make sure you get the right one, and the correct loader program.

13E and 30W are the most interesting at the moment, and over the coming weeks perhaps :)

Hi just done the same thing in SW France with technomate-1600 2ci and need all the answers although have got one stage further on and have programmed receiver with predator 324 (just for fun) but has made little improvment one the channels i can view www.freightfrancais.co.uk
