Hi,
I checked on the forums but haven't found the solution I need.
I moved recently and have installed my pole with motorised dish.
When I wanted to use my Technomate receiver with the remote control I couldn't operate anything. I can't switch on or off and therefore navigate through the menus to finallise the installation. I thought the problem was coming from the remote so I bought another one from ebay and was unsuccessful. All I can do is use the receiver manualy which give me very little options (changing chanels & switching on & off). :confused
My question is: Is the receiver dead or can I still restore it buy downloading the Technomate firmware and then installing the patch?
Will it work? Or do I need to buy another one?
Please let me know what I am doing wrong. Or maybe there is a way to reset the receiver? :-worship
Many thanks in advance for your much appreciated help!

Hi,

Well it could be that part of the harware has malfunctioned, eg the IR sensor or similar.

So a software update may not fix it, but on the other hand, if it doesn't work properly anyway, you have nothing to lose trying it.

The TM5400 super is the current model to replace the old TM1500.

Hi Robbo,
Many thanks for your prompt response.
I have opened the case and unscrewed the part which holds the IR sensor to try to fix the problem. It all seems alright as there is no sign of damage. I guess it must be a malfunctioning indeed as I still have no responses with my remote controle even from very short distance.
I will buy a new receiver. In regards to the TM5400 is there any darkman patch for this model that I can flash onto it?
Many thanks for your guidance once again.

The TM5400 has the same unnoficial support as the old 1000 series did/does.

I had a similar problem with my old 1000D caused by dodgy firmware

Just put the official firmware back on it and try it. If all works well then just try installing an unofficial firmware to see if it goes tits up again. You'll find it on the Technomate website. Make sure you use the official loader with the official firmware.

This problem used to occur every now and then on a new piece of firmware.

Its worth a try as lets face it you have nothing to lose by trying it :-righton
