I've decided to go with a 1m gibertini, but undecided on a diseqc motor.
The stab motors seem to be popular, but I've tried 2 over the years and I wasn't impressed with the backlash it has straight out of the box.
It's a really good build and never rusts, but the backlash really let's it down.
I've used a technomate years back, can't remember any problems.

So my options are the technomate 2300 and superjack 3200.
Has anyone used either, what's the backlash like, has the metal gears on the superjack an advantage.
Thanks.

The Technomate 2600 has metal gears, though the 2300 should also work fine.

I can't seem to find any technomate 2600 motors for sale, the only motor I can find is the superjack 3200 with metal gears.
I can't find any info on the superjack to see its performance.

The Superjack would be a gamble unless you can find anyone to vouch for it, whereas the Technomate is a known quantity with many in use, though some rust proofing would be recommended .

Yes very true, I don't want to buy the superjack without knowing how it performs.
I think I'll go with the technomate.
I had an older model years back and it had a lot of rust turn up.
I'd like to rust proof it, but Notting that makes it go black etc, surely there is a clear coat of something I can put on.

In the car world 'ceramic' spray-on wax is popular, though would need reapplying every 3 to 6 months. Zinc galvanising spray is another option. Also you can change the bolts/fixings for stainless.

Thanks.
I done a search and came across clear coat rust protection spray.
I see some for sale locally, so might get it tomorrow and test it out on some metal and leave it out for a few days.
I like the idea of a clear coat.
