My Satellite Setup
Technomate 5200D USB Pointed at the Astra 28 Satellite

Ireland
I've addded an external harddrive through the USB connection on my Technomate 5200D set top. It records the channels recieved through set top box no problem but is there any way I can record the channels from the aerial on the roof?
 
No, I'm pretty sure that you can only record from the satellite tuner.
 
How do you intend to plug a usb device into an aerial?
 
It's only programmes from the satellite receiver that can be recorded :)
 
I don't intend to connect the aerial to the usb connection but was hoping to record transmissions from the aerial through the set box to the hard drive via the usb connection
 
You can't.

You have no external video input or terestrrial tuner.
 
You d have to change your box to something like tm 6900 hd:) it has twin tuners sat and terrestrial
