Hello all,

I have just installed and set up my first motorised sat dish with the above reciever (which i think is excellent) I am new to all this and have learnt a hell of a lot reading some of the forums,.. there is a lot of helpfull info here!

My question is this: why is it some channels show "free", with an excellent signal yet give no picture or sound? are the not actually free?

My second question is can anyone suggest a good viewing card/cam to watch English films/Documentries/ect,

As I say I am new to all this so please excuse my ignorance! any help will be greatfully recieved...........Thanks!
 
Welcome to the forum moonman5.

Possible reason for no Video/Audio is the channel may have moved to a different transponder, vpid/apid change etc. A re scan would sort it.
 
Usually no picture/sound is due to the channel being removed or some of the IDs being wrong for some reason. This can sometimes be remedied, by looking up the channels you want on the likes of kingofsat and rescanning the correct transponder.
