I am looking at changing to a HD receiver and noticed in the blurb for the TM-5402HD it has '3 Channels Recording & 1 Channel Watching', does this mean I could record 3 football matches from my Tring card?
 
Yes, that may be possible, as they will all be on the same TP.
 
I thought the 5402 was single tuner only, so I doubt very much it would work.
 
According to the Technomate website it is possible.

and feasible if the channels required are on the same transponder, as only one tuning is necessary. Not got one to try though. Using channels that require a subscription card may have an affect also.
 
I stand corrected then,

As for the card issues, unless there is processing of four individual video, audio and data streams simultaneously, the recordings could just be raw channel data, retrieved when required with the subscription card then doing the job of decoding.
 
Thanks for the posts, I will continue reading more 'bumf' before deciding which to go for.
