Hi, Can anyone advise me between these two? So what is an advantage of tm6900 over the tm5200. HD is probably not in my priority at the minute; also recording on hard drive isn't. What I'm saying is; is there any point for me paying quite a bit more for the tm6900 unless I get benefit such as getting extra channels?
Thanks.

The Technomate 5200 is a FTA receiver only with no CI slots. TM 6900 are good recievers with many features. You could take a look at the TM 5400/5600CI :)

It's a simple choice for the Technomates you mention.

If you want HD go for the 6800/6900 (6900 has freeview tuner as well)
(Has 2x CAM slot and 1 card slot)

or

If you just want SD go for a 5200/5300/5400 etc

Both series are single satelllite tuner and can record via external USB Drive

The 5400 also has a multicrypt card slot and CAM slot, over the 5200.

To me the 6900 is way over priced. You could get a twin tuner pvr for almost the same price.

Hi Robbo,
Thanks for the reply. Could you tell me what is a multicrypt card slot and CAM slot. Is it where you buy extra cards and receive extra channels?
