after a power cut yesterday and the electric going on and off about 20 times in an hour my box has a problem it turns on but I cannot get anything else no menu up and al I get is the telly telling me no signal, there is no poer to the dish motor but all cables are ok, is it us or has the on and off caused something to shut down ? thanks

Try reloading the original firmware from the official TM website and then do a factory reset.

the thing is without being able to see the main menu or any of the features I am at a loss on how to proceed I basically have a blank screen and whatever buttons I press on the remote nothing shows, the only thing I can see is on the lcd display of the box I can change the channel number up or down and when a remote button is pressed it flash's as it recieves, its as if the box is not putting anything out,

It's been a while... but if you use the serial cable to re-load the firmware you don't need to touch any buttons on the receiver or access any menus.

It is of course possible that the receiver has other problems of which cannot be fixed without being looked at by a tech.

well I turned it on after getting home tonight and its all up and running again so I am at a loss as to what it could of been the only thing I have noticed is its a bit down on receiver percentage but nothing to cause concern

Nice result then. Might be worth investing in a surge protection extension lead of some sort :)
