Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can shed some light into the differences between these products.

The Skystar doesn't mention supporting DVB-S2 so I assume it doesn't where as the Technotrend does.

I don't want to buy a card which will be soon out of date. The SS2 looks good apart from it not having DVB-S2 support (unless someone can confirm it does)

I suppose the big question is that if the SS2 doesn't support DVB-S2, does the Technotrend do everything the Skystar does. eg. Softcam, DVBViewer, ProgDVB support, etc.

Thanks

Vinny

I would get the Skystar, the new card is not out in the wild in any numbers yet and AFAIK will not be supported by third party software as such.

The Skystar will do MPEG4 with the right software, and in any case there isn't much programming for the DVBS2 card to use to the full anyway at the moment.

For about £40 the Skystar will get you everything that is available at the moment on other recievers .

:-Welcome1 to the board :D

Thanks for your help.

I will go for the Skystar for now then, not exactly breaking the bank anyway ;)
