ive found the bird to be dead apart from the odd spanish feed when i have looked which isnt that often tbh... you would think after 5 years in service there would be more activity and maybe a couple of turnarounds/backhauls ect

RTE use Telstar 11N for occasional feeds in this part of the Ku band 10950 to 11000 Vertical
Washington feeds in the 12500 to 12750,

To lock on to the satellite I use this data stream:
11679 V DVB-S2/8PSK 4090 3/4 @ Alriyada Digital Tele Skies.

Telstar 12 @ 15 west is coming to the end of it's 15 years in geostationary orbit with no new satellite planned they may either move the traffic to 37.5 west or move Telstar 11N to 15 west & Telstar 12 to 37.5 west in an inclined orbit as the earlier Telstar 11 was at 37.5 west for the last few years of it's life.

They will probably go for option 2 & move Telstar 11N to 15 west within the next 3 to 6 months.

..dead what TV feeds concerns but a blindscan shows a lot of activitiy. Alas only ACM data transmission. The only CCM was apparently misread by TBSPro

New contract is the fourth order by Telesat of an Astrium built Eurostar E3000 spacecraft

• Telesat’s new satellite will utilise high throughput capabilities and offer superior performance to meet growing needs of broadcast, corporate, government and enterprise users, including demand for aero and maritime services

• The new satellite will provide high levels of flexibility with coverage of Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, Africa, the Caribbean, North Sea, Mediterranean and South Atlantic regions
1 August 2013 - Astrium, Europe’s leading space technology company, has been awarded a contract by global satellite operator Telesat to build the latest addition to Telesat’s fleet of communications satellites. This satellite will use Astrium’s highly-reliable Eurostar E3000 platform.

Telesat’s new, multi-mission satellite will replace and significantly expand on Telstar 12 at 15 degrees West. Scheduled to be launched at the end of 2015, Telesat’s newest satellite will have powerful coverage of the Americas and EMEA regions as well as maritime zones in Europe, the Caribbean and South Atlantic.

To be honest the more interesting bird to me is 45W its KU beam covers the Eastern US and Canada and Western Europe, yet only ever see 3 broadcasts I can view or listen to.

Up until the middle of 2012 we had a shed load of La Liga and Liga Adelante football feeds on this bird and most of not encrypted. :mad:
