OK, so due to being another statistic and ending up loosing my house, I now find myself without my motorised system. The digs I'm staying in at the moment have a couldn't give a toss attitude, so thought I'd show what I'm using to keep the shares alive!

The receiver is a DM500S clone running Gemini 4.70 Borsalino with CCcam 2.1.4. I've lost most of my shares, but a mate lets me share his Sly UK card from him.

The dish is an unknown (possibly Maplin or Aldi?) 35cm camping suitcase system that I bought from ebay for 19 quid minus just about everything except the dish itself and the some cable. Alas, the meter was also missing from the kit, so using dishpointer.com and a bit of 'left-a-bit, right-a-bit' I can line the dish up in minutes.

It's not much, but it at least gets me back in the skies; as soon as I can get hold of another meter, I'm gonna try my luck on 19.2 and 13

Sorry to hear about your misfortune Dave, but pleased to see you've managed to set up some temp' kit. :)

Does well considering its lashed up nature; just a shame the window cuts all signal to zero when it's closed. Oh well, it's summer, and I don't like being too hot so the window being open is no biggie :)

On the plus side though, I can now save up for a DM8000!

Well, it looks like it's a dish from a Comag Porty kit sold through Lidls. Fortunately it's not had that much use (although the three suction cup base is crap - I had it on the window and came back from the bog to the delightful sound of the dish rattling down the pitched roof outside my bedroom window!) so nothing is rusted.

I get NO reception at all when the window is closed, so I only get to watch TV when the weather is warm! I'm also in the middle of scanning 19e to see what's out there. The supplied compass thingy that attaches to the back of the dish actually points to Astra at 19e not 28e...

Nice wee temp setup.
I have this kit, which includes a 12v sat. box, and used it with some success during my days as a travelling trucker :)
