The reason is the introduction of fees for Slovak commercial TV channels, which the operator had to include in its tariff. Antiki announced the changes in the offer of digital television, related to the introduction of fees for Slovak commercial TV channels Markíza, Doma, Dajto, JOJ, JOJ Plus and Wau. Customers who want to watch these TV channels continue to pay for services with the Basic TV Package by 2 euros more monthly. In practice, this means that the Internet Antiques Standard and Basic TV Package will increase from 17.92 euros per month to 19 , € 92 per month. In the case of a separate Base TV package, the price will increase from 5.88 euros to 7.88 euros. The operator claims that the price increase covers its increased costs, which are related to the payment of additional fees for the distribution of Markiza / JOJ stations. The amount of these fees has been agreed between Antikom and Markiza / JOJ for several years and also covers access to digital services such as the TV archive.
Antik will allow digital TV users to continue to use the service without raising their prices. For this purpose, the operator has created a new Light Basic Package that does not include TV Markíza, JOJ and other TV channels mentioned above. So the user can choose whether to pay for Markie and JOJ or choose a TV package without these TV channels at the original price. Antik estimates that approximately 5% of its customers choose a new package for the original price. The operator will start applying a new tariff from August 15, 2017, offering discounts by the end of August. This means that services with TV channels Markíza / JOJ will start charging from September 1, 2017. Customers wishing to continue to use the service without a price increase may sign an addendum to the contract at any customer's site by August 31. Check out Marquis / JOJ will be possible anytime after this date. In this context, the operator is also preparing the possibility of managing TV packages via a set-top box and a web interface. These features would like to be launched this year.
