The Avengers (Classic)

The original Avengers series is being shown on One HD, the FTA German channel, on 19.2E, starting tonight, and repeated on Saturday, if I remember the EPG correctly.
Many programs, on one HD, are shown with the original sound track, and no subtitles, including Classic doctor Who, so if you like the old Avngers series, or as they call it, Mit Schirm, Charme und Melone.

Tonight appears to be 2 episodes, starting with Mr teddy bear, from 1962, season 2 episode 1. If you want to check if they are runnign the English audio, it can be foung on Astra 1, 19.2E, 11503 H 22000 DVB-S2 8PSK 2/3, check their EPG guide for times, and more details.

Unfortunately the first two episodes, wasn't broadcast in English, even though it had 4 available audio options.
Strange as every other British/American television series seemd to have the original language option, including Doctor Who, which I would have assumed that the BBC would block.

No Tv institution in the world has totally avoided producing boring stuff. Try the French "téléfilms" series called "Murders in...."("=Meurtres à....)
Only positive point,you see the diversity of France we have 100 départements(=counties) and 1 paris.(75)
This said,it s perfect for a post lunch siesta! And it s popular on Russian cable networks!!!

Not at all, the output from the Mark 1 (and other similar independent productions) were the equivalent of disruptive technology of the day, re-writing UK police drama for the small screen.

There are still continuous repeats of The Professionals on FreeView/Sat, The Sweeney (Euston Films) gets similar coverage almost 50 years on plus they were able to get a couple of films out of the franchise.

Clements was also involved in some Hammer productions from memory.

As they're produced by The Danzigers, I like to look out for the continuity errors and howlers, such as in The Cheaters this week, John Ireland's jacket magically changing colour during different camera shots of the same scene.

Yes the BBC ran out of puff around then. Juliet Bravo was their response...

The TARDIS ran out of puff in 1987 and turned into a TURDIS!!!

It still doesn't flush properly

One interesting point is that Brian Clemens left school at the age of 14 and had few qualifications. The Meedja Morons went to university including Oxford University yet by comparison their work is like a dog turd sprayed gold. It may look golden but it is still a smelly sticky turd...
