the controller of the DB 500S

Hi guys,

i have the DB 500s, for 1 year now. Everything is fine except for its remote controller, it sucks, you have to point the Remote directly to the eye of the DB for it to recieve a singal and change a channel for instance. When i sit from one corner of the room to another i also have to change the angle of the DB, otherwise it does not work.

Is this like at all DB, mine is not geniune can that be the prob?

what options do i have? would universal remote be a solution if yes which ones?

Replace the IR sensor in the Dreambox with a TSOP4838 type. Also, there is a resistor you can short out inside the remote to get more range, but I think you will benefit more from replacing the IR sensor instead.

Also try opening the receiver box and repositioning the IR receiver.

If that does not work try the above.
