New Image of Comet Halley in the Cold - VLT Observes Famous Traveller at Record Distance

This study will also cast more light on the mystery of the apparent "emptiness" of the very distant solar system. Why are so few objects found beyond 45 AU? It is not known whether this is because there are no objects out there or if they are simply too small or too dark, or both, to have been detected so far.


Now roughly at the same distance as the planet Pluto :cool:
