Yesterday was a nice day, did a bit of mowing too, and got stung by a wasp for the first time in my life (it decided my armpit was a great place to hide, and stung me just below the pit on my arm), evil little sods they are, I know wasps are good pollinators like bees, but god they're annoying creatures!!!

Looks like today'll be nice too, dunno what I'll get up to though, but I'll try and avoid being stung again... :-rofl2

I know wasps are good pollinators like bees, ...
Afraid they're not pollinators. They are friends of the garden though as they are carnivores and eat significant quantities of grubs and caterpillars.

Don't the little critters make a mess when you hit them with the mower!
I don't know what your weather is like; this is the worst summer we have had since we have been here. Rain-rain and yet more rain. Cut the tomato plants down yesturday as they have got blite; if it carries on I'll be getting trench foot!!!!!!!!!!!!

Has been a very good summer thus far here. Some hefty showers from time to time but other than that warm and sunny......

Temps are well down here, thunder storms about every three days - roll on winter at least we will know what to expect.

So warm here I had to curtail my hedge-trimming this morning. Just ventured out to do some more and now it's very muggy with looming storm clouds.

We've been down here in France for nearly a week now. Weather is distinctly not usual. There had been quite a lot of rain prior to our arrival and grass had grown a heck of a lot in the two months since we were last down. In fact I've never seen it so high at this time of year.

We've had rain since we've down as well, in fact thunderstorms, so grass has been too wet most of the time. Only about two thirds done but at least we can see the swimming pool now! Not that there's a rush to get it done as temperature is only 26C at the moment.

Very last remains of Bertha will stop super heatwave here in Finland on next monday-tuesday. Today was 35th day when temperature over 25C straight! Allmost 3 weeks at least 30C! Only one rainy day at same period here in Kerava! Must say that quite dry landscape and what a every day watering job at next door crickett ground. And like often with different hobbyes, many many players but only 2 lads to do also these maintenance jobs mostly:-doh

..Sat here cringing and wondering what kind of disruption I'll face tomorrow ..
Those westerly gusts have got my dishes performing merry jigs outside whilst the rain keeps coming in waves against the window ..obscuring the view..
Prolly sounds worse than it is ...but many hours to go till morning ..
I can't believe I'm worrying about dish damage in ferkin August..but there it is.
fingers tightly crossed atm..
:(
