Yes the white bird lime on the face of the dish in picture one gives it a certain Je ne sais crois:-rofl2

No seriously, it does look well but as for being sexy...... no..no and definitely no. :)

Yes a nice looking dish the penta. Looks as if you have it on a dark motor.
Nice install anyway, lol :)

The Pentas do look good... you can keep the birds off it with some plastic bird off over the top of the dish.. about 1 euro x m.... (won't look as good though)

....or a fake cat or predator bird placed nearby

(or a real one with one of it's feet nailed down... sic) :-rofl2

We like it... we like Pentas!!

it's just those #@% bird droppings man...

.....I mean.. if Leonardo da Vinci had painted the Mona Lisa and a bird pooped on it ... and he left it... and went round asking his mates what they thought of it.. .... I mean..... It just wouldn't be the same... :-rofl2

but minus the poop ...

.... we love the dish and I bet you get a great arc from it... 120 degrees ?

You'll never get the finger prints off the top of the dish either, lol :D

Pentas go well with Invacoms, same set up here.

I know what you mean m8's...but I feel like in heaven for having done everything by myself. Previously I got and paid a sat-expert for getting a Triax 78 and a Moteck just like Satelliteman but now with this upgrade and a CT HH 390 I can fly from 75E to 58W but I prefer 45-45.

PS How is the 26E signal in UK?

Thanks

Try 12192 h 16200 (Yemen etc) ....that tp / SR is not on 28e or 23.5e
and it can be very strong ... (not at the moment but not bad)

If you can input all data then setup the tp and add the channel Yemen manually .... vpid 0120 apid 0145 ppid 0120

once you have that .. go for Dubai one -- usually a stronger tp here 12130v 27500

mbc is actually stronger now ... here anyway.. or it's because we focus on 11919h 27500

you usually need very fine tuning at the dish particularly for mbc.. and a sensitive receiver... not sure how sensitive that one is...

With fine tuning the dish for mbc, 11.919h clean as a whistle but lose to rain fade of course, still not bad on a Pent 85cm.

Many many thanks @Pedro2000uk and @satelliteman.

Would you, pls, be so kind to give me some reasons why your set-up goes further than 45e-45w? Am I missing some good channels?

Thanks in advance for your feed back

I can see 57e to 58w but there are only a few Western / Central European beams and receivable transponders on these sats.

The new property we have has a severe cut off at 45e - 45w and it's OK at that (very well sheltered) ... don't have a lot of time nowadays going sat hunting deep east or west but we've done it in the past ..even with a motorhome! We have another property that can get real deep from an apex polar mount on a hill.. and if I get time we'll put a smaller dish up high on this one just for that .. but as Satelliteman says.. there is far less aimed at the UK beyond 45e -45w by the nature that you need a high vantage point just to get them.

45e -45w is what we aim on most installs and some miss a bit and some get a bit further .. unless someone wants something specific.

.btw.. there are a lot more satellites there now and far more channels than the old analogue days..

You should get a lot further from that position ...

Try Dishpointer.com and use the obstacle feature .. it works well..

What satellites do you get now?

missed that... never do a blind search on 26e in N Europe (unless you have a bigger dish)- it will just do what it did.. fill your 26e position with 28/23e channels & tps… just scan manually

Hola Pedro,

Gracias also to you:) for the explanation.

Dishpointer is my bible;) and I know I can get much more but I must have a good reason because the Penta touches the wall and I want to avoid to move it higher due to the wind:mad:.

I just printed out this thread for trying tonight the 26E frequencies given by you and @satelliteman with a manual scan.

Feliz 2009 !!!
