Only just got out of bed where I spent from around 4AM till now huddled under the duvet listing to banshees..
At about 2AM I was outside in the rain and wind trying to improvise a method of stopping Carl from shaking himself to pieces..
It aint easy wrestling ladders around in the dark and gale force winds with MS..
The clothes I was wearing are still soaking wet in the bath..
That was as strong if not stronger than the winds that felled Christina some years ago.
Not checked my roof yet nor attempted to move any dishes ..but suspect there _will_ at the very least be alignment issues..
anyone else suffered last night..
?
I wanted to post my woes last night ..but my ISP wasn't available either...

Winds certainly woke me up occasionally. Looked through the bedroom window at the Gibby to see it throwing a tantrum much like an escapologist trying to wrench free of his chains, but to no avail.

Can't say the same with my fencing, it's swaying dangerously close to taking sail. An inspection is on the cards today.

Strong here, but not devastatingly so. This time.

Pretty strong round here as well although not as bad as those a month or so ago which brought a tree down onto a main road nearby causing peak time traffic snarl ups as I was trying to get into work. I think I was lucky to only be half an hour late then.

I was listening to the winds last night (still quite blustery now) and hoping my dishes would survive. No damage here as far as I can see. The CM120 still stands.

Has been howling here most of the morning (and it isn't the dogs). The porch roof is wobbling up and down and wants to take off and land two departments away. The fixed dishes are fine, being shielded by the porch but the wind is coming from the NW, the only direction the motorised 1.2M is open to. It's turned edge on but is still wobbling alarmingly side to side. Hopefully if it only turns on the pole all it will need is a realignment.

Just checked my wall-mounted 1m and it's rock solid and aligned perfectly still, judging by results on 26E and 7.2W.

Phew!

I was more concerned about the greenhouse, I was up until 2am, this morning just one piece of glass had slipped, some peeps have said I am going OTT on the 1.8 install they must forget about winds like this, I am sure I will be able to go to bed and rest at times like this once it is installed :)

I was up at 2am.The rain was hitting the window that hard that it sounded like someone trying to break in.There is a lump of lead flashing from the chimney on the conservatory roof.It is still blowing and raining like Hell.

Edit you up too .Martin.:)

I posted this at around 1AM on a gardening forum ive joined.

Edit, I best put 12.52AM before the time police step in :D.

Quite windy here and the fences on their last nails. All dishes are still up but I haven't tested them out yet.

Our wheelie bin was blown over and my recycling boxes have gone walkies.. no idea where they are!

Spoke too soon: Now got massive gusts and a white-out snow storm.

Is this a good time to remind everyone the Summer BBQ thread is open???

..was started a bit early methinks..
Personally I think we should have started a Summer Brazier thread ..

or should that have been Brassiere ..
Either will warm your hands

Nobody said it has too be a warm and fuzzy Thread: Moaning is perfectly permissible!

It is gettind worse. There are big trees at the bottom of the garden.'Not mine'.Howling like H*** in the wind.
The conservatory roof keeps banging and lifting.
I am getting fed up with the winter weather now.
I am coming up to 72 now, and treasure every day.
But I sometimes think that a hibernation pill would be nice, to sleep two or three weeks away, and wake up to some good weather.
Sad in't it.:)
