How come when attaching images to posts in most forums they appear as thumbnails but do the same in the Testcard thread where it would be really useful they only appear as text giving the file name?

Working ok here aceb

However ther does seem to be an occasional bug in the forum s/w as one post I made a few months ago doesnt display the thumbnail, but just the text.

Are the Images you are trying to upload in a format that the Forum Software recognises as a piccie?

Valid file extensions: doc gif jpe jpeg jpg mp3 pdf png psd rar txt wmv xls zip

Have they been compressed, where necessary, to fit within the allowed File sizes?

Both show Thumbnails !

Win 7 + Firefox 5

Yes - as I said there is a bug in the software which sometimes means the thumnails dont show for one or more posts. Let me see if I can find the one that doesnt show for me.

Ah here it is - the lower one of the two posts.

All the others show - but this particular one doesnt. I even tried reloading the image but no didnt work.

More confused than ever now, if I log out thumbnails appear in the testcard thread, other threads are unaffected and continue to show thumbnails. Logging in and they revert to text in the TC thread. I tried switching off images in the Thread Display Options on my control panel and they change to text on all threads, switching it back on brings me back to the original state of thumbnails apart from in the TC thread. I think I'll put this one down to the bug and live with it lol

You could try logging out, clearing all your cookies/offline content and logging in again. That can sometimes clear odd problems.

Done that, no difference and thinking about it when I tried IE earlier it was the first time I've ever used it on the W7 PC.

Never noticed this problem myself - always use Firefox.

Doesn't mean it is, or isn't, the bug AS mentioned ............... I may just be inattentive.

Hmm, not sure what your problem might be, but the only thing you have switched off is show signatures, see if changing that setting changes things.
