Time to put the gibi to work..

Right i have threatened recently to get the gibi up and running on an Actuator and a 3" pole. Im looking for recommendations for the best Actuator for the job.Also what is the verdict on the technomate v-box? I will have a fortnight off over September so it project time....

I have a Gbox3000 for 36v duty only £25 available from a couple of sponsors on here, But i sourced my Polar mount and Superjack 18" from Germany as it worked out cheaper by around £30 for both delivered.

think the gibby polar mount needs 18inch at least unlike a cm polar mount (1.2m dish) that you can get away with 12inch.

i've got a superjack vbox and its ok but there is the gbox 3000 that is better.

Good luck, with your project, and I hope you get better luck with the weather, than I have, this summer. Every time I even thought of working on my dish it rained !!!!!!

Hmmm ...
went through the buy process without completing it just to see what the final price from Sat-shop de came to ..
Can't really see any substantial saving ..
Total including postage plus a 4% transaction cost comes to around £54 ..
Hisat charge £48 ..but no idea what they want for postage ...but assuming it's around a fiver .....the price works out the same..
Damned expensive ..when you think the polar mount for the smaller gibby is under £30 ..
I guess its a question of supply and demand ...but I fail to see how double the price is justified.
When you factor in an actuator and Vbox as well ....its well over a £100

I just went to hi-sat its £48 for the polar mount excluding delivery and the only Genuine Superjack 18" i can find from a certain supplier comes in at £64.95 again including delivery so rounded up thats £113 i paid delivered for the 2 £80 saving £33 and what ever the delivery charge is at hi sat

The £33 saving got me a Gbox3000 from one of the forum sponsors, So i got all 3 items for less than the price of 2 items that are on my own doorstop so to speak

Checking with my French supplier he stocks a genuine Superjack 18" :

With delivery to me (I.E. internal French poste) it works out to €38.67 (about £31) Not sure about the rates to the UK though.

VS, I'm assuming you did convert HM Sat's prices to £? I can only say, they're an excellent supplier.

..and although the product itself was a bit less expensive ...once postage and the extra 4% for using the service was added ..the price after conversion from euro to £ was about the same as Hisat ..
I guess it is what it is ..
My main gripe is almost doubling of the price when going fron a 1m mount ..to a 1.2 > mount..

I would check to see if the Hi Sat is an official Superjack the price appears to be £30 + £22 for the 18" + £48 for the polar mount so thats still £100 without postage, end of the day its up to you i order quite a bit from Hm Sat for jobs and have never had a problem and have found them cheaper on most items than any UK supplier.

No Digi ...I didn't do a combined pricing ...
Just the mount on its own ...which came to the price I mentioned after adding the 16euro postage and then the 4% handling fee..
The whole lot then converted to £s
The actuator is probably where you made the saving..
