Good morning

I'm after some help information on the tivu sat system, currently my Italian mum has tivu sat at home in England but the digital box has packed up & we are using the old analog box with limited channels, we are in Italy visiting our relatives & want to purchase a new box we already have a card from the old digital box, but we went to a electronics shop in Sicily & was told the box has to be activated for use in the uk ie programmed. We have the dish & everything working in uk apart from the box is this the case having the programme the new box if purchased in Italy to work in uk via hotbird south east.
 
As far as I know, Tivusat Cards aren't paired to the Receiver, so your existing Card should work quite happily in a new Receiver.

Once a Card has been activated, it does not matter where the box is subsequently located.
 
I'd say you misunderstood the guy in the shop, Tivusat receivers are mostly bundled with a viewing card, the chap in the shop was most likely going on about the new card needing to be activated, not the receiver.
Tivu' is right above, your existing card will work fine in the new receiver.

OK - this has me interested :) Old analogue box with limited channels? I thought there was *zero* analogue left in Europe...

I "passed" on that, thinking that perhaps it should instead have referred to a generic Digital Sat Receiver.
