My Satellite Setup
Home-Amstrad Sky Digi-box on 60cm dish. Bar - Pace Sky English Digi-box and Grundig Sky Eire Digi-box linked to a 2.4m Channel master dish with a single dual output LNB. Digibox for ART network on 90cm dish. Digibox for Digitalalb subscription. Di

What is the correct way to setup one of these boxes as i have bought one of each.
I have only used dm 500 before and obviously flashed with rs232 cable is it the same for technomate?
I have downloaded the tcc and technomate loader plus images needed but dont know whether i flash just using a rs232 or do i connect it to internet and setup communication setup first etc.
A step by step guide would be very appreciated as cant find much info on the procedures of setup anywhere.
Thanks

I have bought a technomate 500 and a technomate 600pvr but want to setup the tm 500 at the moment.
I thought it was going to be like the dm500 just using the rs232 but i think its different could do with a step by step guide on installing an initial flash as no idea as what i should connect up firstly or what programme for initial setup i.e the loader to flash or tcc.
Thanks

Ok firstly you will need to download the following file.

_http://rapidshare.com/files/242037605/TM-500.rar.html

(Uploaded 7th June with 10 download limit, so it won't be around for long )

Unzip the file and you will find the instructions, the loader and the latest UR 20 Image :D

I take no responsibility if you damage your receiver. You use these files at your own risk :-omg

I used them on my TM500 and everything worked fine :-worship

These files were originally found over at the Darkplace

The only thing you should need telnet for is to get into the box to change the password and thats more or less it.

On a PC hit start and click on run.

Type telnet 192.168.***.*** (What ever your box ip is)

You can find out from the expert menu on the box. Menu -> 6 -> Expert menu -> Communication settings

When in telnet you should see the first picture.

Type in root for user name and then hit enter. Hit enter again and you should see pic2

Type in passwd to change root password. Just follow the instructions and you will be fine.

Use Crimson editor (Its free just google it) to edit your lines.

Install CCcam/newcs from the panel to read your card.

Blue button -> blue button

it sounds like you have flashed the rev3 image onto your box m8

if its come from a dark place, they have had MANY MANY warnings about the file, and banned those who have used it then complained, but they will not remove it,

ill flash this image onto a receiver now m8 and check it, but if it has taken out your password, youll need a few files, and have to manually attack the encrypted password before you can regain access to your receiver :(

EDIT:

the access details for this image are

USER : root
PASS :

blank password

mgcamd and newcs (1 card) will also read your card without any playing with configs

Thanks for all the help digidude and nano.
Thing is if i use say mgcamd etc will i still be able to use cccam as i bought the technomate box to just replace my old dm and thought i could just set this box up and just ftp my original config and by the sounds doesnt seem the case.
Also i went into dcc and there was no script on the left hand side where i thought i could just go to var/etc and trf the file.
Thanks in advance

I have had no problems getting into my receiver using the software that i posted yesterday. Its on my receiver and everything is fine.

I can telnet and ftp to it with no problems at all :D

Just use Cccam & newcs from the blue button and you will be able to watch your Sky card with no problem at all.

You can also use your original config from your DM for CCcam. You will just need to use NewCS to read the sky card.

The CCcam.cfg file i am using came from my old ABcom Ipbox 200s and it works fine :D

Just an update teide_ian :D

Please do not ask questions by PM as they are no use to anybody else with the same problems, please use the forum :toke:

And now to tackle your question with NewCS.

Your TM500 will read a Sky 0961 card without any problems at all

I use Cccam 2.0.11 and NewCS 1.65 (1 card) downloaded from the blue panel. It works fine as shown below.

Once installed select cccam 2.0.11/newcs 1.65 in the emu menu and press green button. The EMU should then start.

You will find your newcs config file which you will need to modify in Var/tuxbox/configs :D ( I have removed the <user> section for obvious reasons )

This newcs file should get you going although you will need to add your own details to the bits that have ***** in them. they are basically usernames and passwords

In your cccam.cfg file you will need to add the following:-

N: 127.0.0.1 15000 cccam cccam 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14

This will allow cccam to read the card directly from newCS :-worship

These setting work fine on my TM500. It reads a Sky card with no problems at all :D

If you go into your web browser you can view the status of newcs in much the same way as you can with cccam. you just change the port no from 16001 to 8080.

I.e

192.168.1.100:8080

Thanks nano and digidude for your help so far i replied through p.m as i thought bits might of been not allowed to talk about on the forum.

Thanks for your response so far but it is still not reading card so what i have done so far is as i think i am missing doing something silly.
opened linux loader and sent image to the box said everything complete.
restarted box then went through the pal etc
then set comm setup
192.168.1.34
255.255.255.0
192.168.1.1
192.168.1.1
then i went to blue panel and have downloaded so far various cams but deleting the last one before installing a new one.
used

cccam2100-newcs1.65 1 card
cccam2100-newcs1.65 2 card
mgcamd1.31-newcs1.65 1 card
the card is in the bottom slot and have tried both ways round
have set default cam on the ones above and have left the 2 lines below on default or used the cam chosen in the 2 lines below.
I have since tried the other cams in the old cam file but still wont read card.
Any ideas?
Thanks

im using a TM600 with a white 0963 card with no problems

Version: 1.66 [Build: 82], compiled May 22 2009 11:11:24
Using /var/tuxbox/config/newcs.xml as config.

was a bit of messing about to get the new newcs 1.66 running on there, but its now nice and smooth, my HD receivers connect into it no problems and no freezing on the channels either

download cccam and newcs 1 card

looking at the examples above, the port number in newcs is different to the N line for cccam, newcs is on 15000 and the N line is on 12000, also newcs defaults its first user as dummy (im new to cccam, so apologies if im totally wrong with this lol) so i think the N line should be

N: 127.0.0.1 15000 dummy dummy 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14

ill setup a TM500 with cccam and newcs and verify what newcs is setup as

You know something Digidude your absolutely right :-righton

My mistake, NewCS would be 15000 not 12000 :D

I'm pretty new to newcs myself as i've never had to use it before as my DM600 will read my 961 card with just Cccam :-worship

The default port on CCCam is 12000 which is where my confusion arose

I'm only playing with newcs because its inevitable that i'm going to have to use it :(

Previous post now corrected :-rofl2

Thanks for all replies so far going to try again tomorrow,
downloaded filezilla today but would,nt let me edit the newcs.xml file so i was wondering where i can just get the newcs.xml config file from as i have looked everywhere, i was going to try again to see if dcc will let me look at the data on the left hand side as its showing me nothing so far and would prefer to just ftp the file that way.
Also do i have to open the port 15000 in the router or is this just an internal port just for reading between cam and emu.
Thanks again

No problems here, It talks to all my receivers and all my receivers talk back to it

The only issue i get is sometimes you will select a channel and it will freeze requiring you to go up a channel and then come back down where it opens up with no further issue :D

I'm sure this is just a small glitch in the software somewhere which should be ironed out in the next release :toke:
