TM3000+ M2 usb - appears dead -

Foreign chappie just wandered into my shop with this sat box ..
No HDMI on this one ..
2 scarts plus various phono sockets plus 1x usb on the rear ..
Appears dead but isn't totally (toslink led lit) but this is the only sign of life ..
No standby light ..no alpha display ...ie doesn't power up.
definately not a psu fault ..
All diodes and caps check out ok ..
5v supplys intact
as is the 3.3v supply
also
12v and 22v supplies ok ..
the fault imo is main board related ..

Chances are he's bricked it himself with an upgrade or something similar.
But ...I thought I'd just check if there are any known causes for this failure ...before informing him ..
It's a bin job.

Yes there is a RS232 port never had one of these but found this:-

Then it should be possible to revert back to factory firmware.

Yeah try doing a firmware load through the rs232 port might fix a corrupted firmware on it.

Never had a issue with my tm1500ci that's been solid unlike my vantage x221ci receiver that easily messes up and I have to reflash firmware to it.

The chap picked it up yesterday ...
With the advice from me to replace it with one designed for UK use with HDMI out..
a 5402 or similar.
